Working lands alliance Project Direlbassani2ctor

Lisa Bassani joined American Farmland Trust in February 2013 as the Working Lands Alliance (WLA) Project Director, where she directs all aspects of WLA’s efforts to protect Connecticut’s productive farmland and promote agricultural viability. Working closely with WLA’s 19-member Steering Committee, Bassani will develop WLA’s annual policy agenda and oversee direct and grassroots advocacy efforts, research, fundraising, and communications.

Bassani has worked for more than four years as Project Manager in the Connecticut Office of Trust for Public Land, where she successfully negotiated, fundraised for, and closed on a number of large land conservation projects, including farmland projects.   Bassani also served as TPL’s point person for one of the most important coastal restoration efforts in Connecticut – the restoration of sensitive barrier beach habitat on Long Beach in Stratford, CT—which was an ambitious and highly complex project that received the prestigious Coastal America Award from the Department of the Interior in 2012.

Bassani holds a Masters of Environmental Science degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, and a BA in Spanish from the University of Michigan.
