Farmland Information Specialist
Don Buckloh collects information about state and local farmland programs and policies, fields requests about farmland protection techniques and helps develop educational materials. On the American Farmland Trust staff since 1998, he sees farmland as an irreplaceable resource that is under constant threat of conversion to other uses.
In addition to his work supporting American Farmland Trust’s Farmland Information Center, Buckloh is a member of the Franklin Regional Planning Board for Franklin County, Massachusetts, and the Berkshire-Pioneer RC&D Council.
Before joining American Farmland Trust, he completed a 34-year career with USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, working in Ohio and Massachusetts in a variety of positions, including district conservationist, resource conservation and development coordinator, area conservationist and state resource conservationist.
A graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in agronomy and an M.S. in natural resource management, he grew up on a farm and now co-owns and manages two family farms in Ohio.
