Farmland Information Specialist

Don Buckloh is a farmland information specialist for American Farmland Trust. He responds to requests for information regarding farmland protection techniques, collects information on state and local farmland protection programs and policies, compiles and analyzes data, and develops educational materials.

Buckloh joined AFT’s staff in 1997 after a 34-year career with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he served in several technical and management positions in Ohio and Massachusetts. In Massachusetts, he was the state resource conservationist managing ecological science programs and training field staff. In Ohio, he managed all NRCS programs in 15 counties.

Buckloh has a master’s degree in natural resource management and a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Ohio State University. He also manages his family’s farm in western Ohio.
