New York State Director

During his time with AFT, David has worked with more than 12 town and county governments in developing and implementing agricultural economic development and farmland protection plans. He has also worked with state and federal legislators to develop agricultural and land conservation legislation and to expand incentives for farmland conservation. David has helped coordinate farmland protection projects that will permanently conserve over 4,000 acres of farmland in New York. 

Prior to joining AFT, David worked with the Vermont Land Trust in evaluating the fiscal impacts of land conservation in Vermont communities and was employed in New York’s Catskill Mountains as an outdoor educator. He has a MS in Natural Resources Planning from the University of Vermont and a BA in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Binghamton University. He is a recent graduate of the LEAD New York program and a member of the Land Trust Alliance New York Advisory Committee. 

David was born and raised in Peru, New York, and now lives with his family in Malta, New York. He helps his wife, Suzanne, and their family manage a small greenhouse and flower farm and market their products at the Saratoga Springs Farmers' Market.
