Janice Hill, AICP

Executive Planner for Kane County Farmland Protection and Local Foods Program
Biography

Janice Hill, AICP runs Kane County, Illinois’ Farmland Protection and Local Foods Program since its inception in 2001 and is the only county based farmland protection program in Illinois.  Janice is a farm granddaughter, and even though her mother left her parents German farming community in northern Michigan over 70 years ago to head to Chicago for college (as she didn’t see herself as a farmer’s wife :)); Janice stays close with her Michigan farm family and uses those life experiences in land and generational transfer when working her program.  Fundraising for the county’s local match is one of her top priorities.
