Biography

As the first Executive Director, Susan began working with Tall Pines in the Spring of 2008 and led the charge to become an Accredited Land Trust, accomplished in 2015. Susan holds a Master’s degree in Land Use Planning, is a licensed Real Estate Broker, and has over 20 years of experience in the areas of land-use planning, marketing, real estate, historic preservation, architecture and construction. She served on the board of directors for Gathering Waters, Wisconsin’s alliance of land trusts, and served as its chair of the Land Trust Council. She is a huge advocate of farmland protection and has worked to protect 1000 acres of farmland at Tall Pines through PACE, ALE and RCPP. Susan and her husband own a farm on Washington Island and are members of the Door County Land Trust. Susan is a avid cyclist and enjoys kayaking, sailing and skiing in her free time.
