Webinar: How Institutional Racism Shaped the American Farming Landscape

September 23, 2021

U.S. agriculture today appears to be just as segregated as it was a century ago, with farmers of color at a significant disadvantage. Farmers of color (Black, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, and those reporting more than one race) currently comprise less than 3 percent of non-farming landowners and less than 4 percent of owner-operators. Attend this engaging discussion lead by Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Sciences (MANRRS) as they discuss the need for more attention to the demographics of farmland ownership and farming, and identify opportunities for action to create a more equitable U.S. food system.
