Kara works with public and private partners to advance farmland protection in the Midwest. Before joining AFT, Kara worked for Wisconsin Farmers Union advocating for fair prices for farmers, robust soil and water conservation programs, and sound rural economic development policies at both the state and national levels. Kara received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, and received her law degree and Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota.
