Erica Buswell is the former Vice-President of Programs at Maine Farmland Trust, where she supported the development and implementation of the organization’s farmland protection, farmland access and farm viability programs. She has chosen to do food systems work because she knows that good things happen when people come together around food. As a result of attempting to help beginning farmers of all stripes attain secure farmland access, she knows she’s fortunate to have a piece of land in Searsport, Maine, to call home, where she and her husband have created a homestead they hope will feed them well into the future.
