American Farmland Trust Returns as Partner for America The Bountiful – Season Two airing nationwide on public television as it continues to shine a light on the importance of farm viability to the public consciousness

Airing in April 2025, the second season of the food and travel show shares even more stories of the food, people and places that make America bountiful

(Washington, D.C.) — American Farmland Trust is proud to renew its sponsorship of the national public television series America The Bountiful,  premiering its second season on April 1, 2025.

American Farmland Trust is the only national organization that takes a holistic approach to agriculture, focusing on the land itself, the agricultural practices used on that land, and the farmers and ranchers who do the work. AFT launched the conservation agriculture movement and continues to raise public awareness through our No Farms No Food® message. Since the organization’s founding in 1980, AFT has helped permanently protect nearly 8 million acres of agricultural lands, advanced environmentally sound farming practices on millions of additional acres and supported thousands of farm families.

America The Bountiful is a food, history, and travel series exploring the regional food traditions of America’s heartland, hosted by TV personality, cookbook author, and radio podcast host Capri Cafaro. In the second season, the series takes viewers on a journey into America’s heartland to learn about culture and find inspiration in the chronicles of farmers, artisans, restauranteurs, and home cooks through the bounty that they grow, produce, and eat. Season One reached 95% of U.S. households and over 15 million impressions. America The Bountiful helps shine a spotlight on the vibrant, culturally diverse, untold food stories and traditions hidden across America. America The Bountiful is presented nationally by WTTW Chicago and distributed by American Public Television (APT).  The series is also available to stream on PBS Passport.

“AFT is focused on saving the land that sustains us all and our Season Two partnership with America the Bountiful will help us reach an important national public television audience of engaged and committed conservationists, farmers, and food lovers across the country,” said AFT President and CEO John Piotti. “We’re excited to amplify the great stories from America The Bountiful with our supporters to continue providing education about the importance farmland protection, sound agriculture practices, and resilient food systems. It’s an exciting partnership that allows us to share our vision of keeping America bountiful!”

This sponsorship will continue that work to engage a broader audience about the importance of farmland protection and to gain support for much-needed state and local policies to facilitate conservation on our nation’s most productive, versatile, and resilient soils.

“I cannot think of a more fitting partner for our program than America Farmland Trust,” says Capri S. Cafaro, the creator, executive producer and host of America The Bountiful. “It is our objective to capture stories that celebrate American farmers, acknowledge the importance of agriculture, and help educate audiences about where their food comes from. We are honored that American Farmland Trust has continued its support as we embark on Season 2 of America The Bountiful. AFT is an organization that holds shared values.”

Keeping America bountiful isn’t easy. Today, our nation’s most productive and resilient land is at risk of being fragmented or lost to development, and farmers face increasing pressure from thinner margins and a changing climate. To help educate and engage the audience as part of the sponsorship, American Farmland Trust will share research and resources with the fans of the show through social media and special events. Supporters can learn more about farmland stewardship and join AFT’s Keep America Bountiful® campaign to help support programs that keep farmers farming, make productive use of our agricultural resources and ensure a bounty for future generations of Americans.
