Farmer and Land Access Navigator, Renewing the CountrysideBiography
John Beaton (he/him) is the founder of Fairhaven Farm, a diversified farm business in Northern Minnesota which markets fresh vegetables through a CSA subscription, sells greenhouse-grown starter plants to home gardeners, and hosts events and workshops for the wider community. Aside from his on-farm work, John assists beginning farmers access land and create thriving farm businesses through his work as a Land Access Navigator with Minnesota-based non-profit Renewing the Countryside. He is also proud to sit as the president of the Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association, a non-profit organization that brings together consumers and producers through an annual Harvest Fest in Duluth, Minnesota.
The land he and his wife, Emily, now steward has been farmed for over 130 years and is surrounded by beautiful boreal forests, lakes, and rivers.
