Farmer and Connecticut Field Agent, Land For GoodBiography
Will O’Meara is an organic vegetable farmer, agricultural service provider, and advocate based in Waterbury, CT. His interests in the food system include land access and transfer, regional food system development, equity, and environmental stewardship. He operates Hungry Reaper Farm on leased land in Morris, CT with his partner, Jill, where they grow vegetables for a CSA, wholesale, and farmers markets. He also works as Land For Good’s Connecticut Field Agent, where he works with farmers, landowners, and communities to improve land tenure and succession opportunities for farmers in the state. In addition, Will sits on the board of the New CT Farmer Alliance and Farmland Preservation Advisory Board, as well as the steering committee of the Working Lands Alliance.
Off the farm, Will enjoys cooking the fruits of his labor, seeing live music, everything to do with apples, and any activity that keeps him outdoors. Will received a B.S. in Sustainable Food and Farming at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
