Grace joined American Farmland Trust in May 2024 as a South Carolina Implementation Specialist. In this role, she collaborates closely with the NRCS, farmers, and landowners to support the implementation of Farm Bill programs, offer conservation plans and assistance, and conduct outreach efforts across the state. Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, Grace earned her bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science from Agriculture and Forestry University, where she discovered her passion for agriculture and began to emerge with a strong foundation in the field through research and academia. While pursuing her degree, Grace interned with Nepal’s Ministry of Agriculture, providing extension services for agricultural mechanization and modernization.

After graduating, Grace worked at Aythos Nepal as a Livelihood Program Manager, leading agricultural development projects to support rural Himalayan communities. She also interned with the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome supporting the Plant Production and Protection Division.

Driven to further her expertise, Grace moved to Oregon, USA, to pursue her Master’s in Crop Science and Entomology. Her thesis research project focused on implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to control clover seed weevil in Oregon’s white clover seed production system. A passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture, food security, biodiversity conservation, Grace has presented her work in 10 countries across five continents. She aims to contribute her technical knowledge and diverse experiences to support AFT’s mission. Outside of work, Grace loves to travel, hike in nature and cook Nepali and Indian food.
