Cade Rensink
Director of the Central Kansas District, Kansas State Research and ExtensionBiography
Cade (he/him) has over 18 years of professional consultation experience. He currently serves as Director of the Central Kansas District for K-State Research & Extension where his programmatic responsibilities emphasize community vitality, natural resource stewardship and sound farm/ranch management. In recent years, Cade has made it a priority to provide education and outreach to underserved audiences – namely beginning farmers and ranchers as well as women in agriculture. Much of his time is spent promoting the availability of existing resources and facilitating the development of new programs which meet the needs of Kansas and beyond.
Prior to his administrative role, Cade was an Extension Agent focused on production strategies for grazing livestock and integrated resource management. He also spent seven years as Vice President of a local community bank working primarily with agricultural customers. It was during this time he developed a passion for addressing the generational transfer of farms, ranches, and agribusinesses.
He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Science & Industry (Business Option) and minors in Agronomy and Agricultural Economics. Cade also holds a Master’s Degree in Range Science from K-State.
At home, Cade and his wife, Amanda, are raising sixth-generation Kansas ranchers in their sons, Callan and Colyer. Their family operates in north central Kansas where they have a commercial cow herd, backgrounding enterprise, and do custom grazing. They are all avid outdoors people who enjoy spending time together as a family and giving back to their community.
