AFT joins in the Giant BBQ Battle with partners Tillamook and Giant Food

In late June, American Farmland Trust joined Tillamook County Creamery Association and Giant Food at the 31st annual
Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle

In a sea of people on Pennsylvania Avenue, we had some great conversations with thousands of folks and talked about our No Farms No Food®  message. For some, our rally slogan hit close to home with several area farmers sharing stories of their land. For others, I hope this experience planted the seed to think about how a bountiful table is only made possible thanks to the people that grow our food. No Farms No BBQ!

With the potent smoke of the BBQ contestants drifting in the air, we were honored to receive a gift from Giant Food to support our Brighter Future Fund. The presentation of this significant and generous gift was a highlight of the two-day experience! It’s thanks to great partners like Tillamook and Giant that AFT can deliver impactful work supporting farmers.

If you see AFT out at an event like the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle – stop by! We’ll have a No Farm No Food® sticker for you, and we want to learn more about why No Farms No Food matters to you!
