AFT Statement on Passage of Build Back Better Act in House of Representatives

This statement can be attributed to Tim Fink, American Farmland Trust’s policy director

American Farmland Trust commends the House of Representatives on their passage of the Build Back Better Act which includes $28 billion for agricultural conservation. This once-in-a-generation funding opportunity would provide producers with the tools they need to protect their land, increase resilience to extreme weather, sequester carbon, and reduce emissions – all while improving their soils and profitability. As the legislation now moves to the Senate for consideration, we encourage Senators to maintain this critical conservation funding which will enable our nation’s farmers and ranchers to be leaders in addressing climate change.
