American Farmland Trust Statement on Solidarity

American Farmland Trust would like to express our collective grief over the recent unjust killing of George Floyd. AFT denounces all forms of racism, hatred and violence.

As part of our mission to protect farmland, promote sound farming practices, and keep farmers on the land, we work toward a better tomorrow, every day. We recognize that racial injustice is part of the legacy of our agriculture and food systems, particularly as it relates to access to and ownership of agricultural land. We will continue to enhance our knowledge and expand our programming to foster inclusivity that embraces disenfranchised communities.

We condemn discrimination and injustice everywhere and commit to undoing racism within our sphere of influence. To this end, we invite and will foster deeper collaboration with partners in the field to realize a more just and equitable food and agriculture system and society.
