AFT Congratulates Vilsack on Agriculture Secretary Confirmation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Farmland Trust congratulates Tom Vilsack on being confirmed as Secretary of Agriculture. At a time when farmers are struggling in the face of a global pandemic, a changing climate, and significant debt, his experience will help USDA tackle these challenges immediately. We especially look forward to working with him to advance farmland protection, provide farmers the tools to sequester additional carbon, create a more resilient agricultural system, and widen the doors of participation to a new, diverse generation of producers.
