AFT Hires Brandi McCoy to Expand Work in Kansas

(Washington, D.C.) American Farmland Trust is expanding its work on Kansas Grazing Lands, hiring Brandi McCoy as the new Kansas Grazing Specialist.

“Brandi will play a key role in both expanding our grazing initiatives in the Southern Great Plains and continuing to build on the work we have here in Kansas," said AFT Ag Conservation Innovations Initiative Program Manager Kinzie Reiss. "She brings a wealth of experience in the grazing space and a passion for producers on the plains.”

Brandi will be working directly with farmers and ranchers to provide technical assistance and support the adoption of adaptive grazing practices.

She brings a strong background in both conservation and ranching. She began her career as a biologist with Pheasants Forever, where she assisted landowners in improving pollinator and upland bird habitat. She later transitioned into private consulting and coaching, supporting farmers and ranchers in implementing regenerative land management practices.

Brandi graduated from Kansas State University with bachelor's degrees in Animal Science and Natural Resource and Environmental Sciences. She has continued her education in soil health and agroecology through Dr. Elaine’s Soil Food Web School and Integrity Soils’ CREATE program.

She lives on a ranch near Beaumont, Kansas, in the southern Flint Hills, where she and her husband own and operate 4L Grazing LLC, a livestock company managing stocker cattle and a winter backgrounding enterprise.

If you are interested in technical assistance services, please reach out to Brandi at [email protected]. If you have questions about work in Kansas or would like to partner with AFT, please reach out to program manager Kinzie Reiss at [email protected].

American Farmland Trust is the only national organization that takes a holistic approach to agriculture, focusing on the land itself, the agricultural practices used on that land, and the farmers and ranchers who do the work. AFT launched the conservation agriculture movement and continues to raise public awareness through our No Farms No Food® message. Since our founding in 1980, AFT has helped permanently protect over 8 million acres of agricultural lands, advanced environmentally-sound farming practices on millions of additional acres and supported thousands of farm families.
