Fire Preparedness for Farmers and Ranchers (Durkee, OR)

This November, join American Farmland Trust, Northeast Oregon Economic Development District, Wallowa Resources, Oregon State University, and local ranchers in Durkee for a Fire Preparedness learning circle.

We’ll discuss the place of fire in the local context, hear about recent and historic fires, start individualized fire assessment plans, go over risk mitigation, and get to know the regional support system.

This is the first of a four-part series, with the next three circles focused on:

• Emergency Preparedness and Response (virtual -Winter 2026)

• Disaster Insurance and Financial Assistance (virtual - Winter 2026)

• Living with Fire (in person - Spring 2026)

This series is based on the award-winning Farming through Wildfire Season curriculum from Farmer Campus. We hope that you can join us for all four events.
