American Farmland Trust shares grant opportunities to implement regenerative agricultural practices

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Agricultural producers in the Golden State can take advantage of a free resource describing various funding for California conservation planning in 2024. The online guide is provided by American Farmland Trust and summarizes several grants that support California farmers and ranchers in implementing agricultural practices that build soil health and protect natural resources like groundwater.

This funding for California conservation planning can be applied towards everything from cover crops and irrigation management to hedgerows and pollinator plants. Interested producers should apply right away for these programs, as many deadlines are right around the corner.

American Farmland Trust is the only national organization that takes a holistic approach to agriculture, focusing on the land itself, the agricultural practices used on that land, and the farmers and ranchers who do the work. AFT launched the conservation agriculture movement and continues to raise public awareness through our No Farms, No Food message. Since our founding in 1980, AFT has helped permanently protect over 7.5 million acres of agricultural lands, advancing environmentally-sound farming practices on millions of additional acres and supported thousands of farm families.
