Technical Support and Funding for San Joaquin Valley Farmers to Help Soil Health, Water Management

A new collaborative project will provide technical support and funding for San Joaquin Valley farmers to help with land and water conservation, specifically in Tulare, Fresno, Madera, Merced, and Stanislaus counties.
This partnership stretches across the San Joaquin Valley, including:
4 Resource Conservation Districts (RCDs), including East Stanislaus RCD, East Merced RCD, Madera-Chowchilla RCD, and Sierra RCD
American Farmland Trust
USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) offices in the San Joaquin Valley
The program provides financial support from the NRCS to farmers needing assistance transitioning to 14 practices. USDA-NRCS recognizes each, and the application process goes through a process similar to the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) application.
