Alexandra Blue
National Agriculture Land Network Coordinator
Alex joins AFT as the National Agriculture Land Network Coordinator where she supports Network efforts to connect people, organizations, and state and local governments to elevate the cause of agricultural land protection and retention. Prior to joining American Farmland Trust, Alex worked in local government focusing on environmental resilience, land use, and planning. Alex is passionate about the intersection of agriculture land protection, economic vitality, and sound conservation practices. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences (geology rocks!) from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During her time at UNC-Asheville, she was a fellow at the McCullough Institute for Conservation, Land Use, and Environmental Resiliency. After graduation she served with AmeriCorps at Project Conserve. She is thrilled to bring her experience to the NALN team to support advocacy for preserving the land that sustains us. Blue lives in Western NC with her husband and four animals, two dogs and two cats. Outside of work, Alex enjoys rafting with her family on a local Appalachian river or crocheting under a cozy blanket.
