Biography

Amanda joined American Farmland Trust in July 2024 as a North Carolina Implementation Specialist. In this position, she collaborates closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), farmers, and landowners. Her key responsibilities encompass supporting the implementation of Farm Bill programs, offering conservation plans and technical assistance, and spearheading outreach initiatives. Amanda is from Concord, NC and received her bachelor’s degree in environmental science from American Public University. Amanda uses her knowledge of Best Management Practices from her 7 years working in a local Soil and Water Conservation District to assist with NRCS conservation planning and implementation. While with the District, Amanda provided technical support and facilitated cost-share programs to local farmers and looks forward to continuing this work with American Farmland Trust. Amanda is excited to increase outreach to historically underserved farmers and is committed to equity in conservation.
