Biography

In his role as New York Agricultural Stewardship Associate, Ben supports farmers and farmland owners in transitioning to or expanding the adoption of regenerative farming practices. Prior to joining AFT in January 2024, Ben worked with farms in Connecticut to develop Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans as part of a partnership between CT RC&D and NRCS. Before that, he worked in environmental consulting, assisting with various environmental permitting efforts for renewable energy, energy transmission, and other projects. Ben holds degrees from Cornell University (B.S. in Environmental Science) and Southern Illinois University (M.S. in Forestry/Watershed Management). Outside of work, Ben is a native plant enthusiast and lover of outdoor activities including trail running, beach volleyball, biking, canoeing, and cross-country skiing. He and his partner are working to maintain and expand a small homestead operation just south of Syracuse, NY on land that has been in his family for 50+ years.
