Ben Roosa
New York Agricultural Stewardship Associate
Ben supports farmers and farmland owners in exploring and adopting practices that support both their operation and the broader agroecosystem. Ben is particularly interested in perennial agricultural systems, including grazing and agroforestry. Before joining AFT in 2024, Ben worked with farms in Connecticut to develop Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans. He has also worked in environmental consulting, assisting with various environmental permitting efforts for renewable energy, energy transmission, and other projects. Ben holds degrees from Cornell University (B.S. in Environmental Science) and Southern Illinois University (M.S. in Forestry/Watershed Management). Outside of work, Ben is a native plant enthusiast and lover of outdoor activities, including trail running, beach volleyball, biking, canoeing, and cross-country skiing. He and his partner are working to establish a small farm in Homer, NY.
