Ben Wiercinski

Sr. Agricultural Economist

Ben primarily researches the economic effects and ecosystem services derived from adopting soil health practices. He works to create tools that enable farmers to make more informed decisions about conservation practices on their farms. He joined AFT in March of 2021 after working four years at Manaaki Whenua, a New Zealand government research institute, where he worked on environmental and behavioral economic projects. He has a Master's degree from the University of Göttingen in Development Economics and a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Agricultural Economics.
