Casey Kula
Midwest Soil Health SpecialistBiography
As the Midwest Soil Health Specialist for American Farmland Trust, Casey works with retailers, producers, and landowners to advance the adoption of conservation agricultural practices. Prior to AFT, Casey spent time as a research and teaching assistant at Southern Illinois University focusing on cover crop and nutrient management, soil health, and agricultural ecosystem services. Before attending graduate school, he had various roles at several different agricultural operations in the Madison, WI area producing vegetables and hops. He received his Master of Science in Soil Science from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Edgewood College in Madison, WI. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and gardening.
