Claudia is part of Farms for a New Generation team with a role of strengthening and growing the national Navigators network that offers direct technical assistance to farmers, ranchers and landowners seeking to access or preserve agricultural land and begin or retire from viable farming careers. Claudia brings 30 years experience as a farmer and food system activist. She and her husband, own and operate Little Seed Gardens, a 97 acre farm in Chatham, NY. She has worked for decades as a mentor for new farmers, co founded a local food cooperative in her hometown, and worked on many projects over the years focused on community food security. Prior to joining AFT, she served for 8 years as the Statewide Director of the NYS Ag. Mediation Program. Claudia holds a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis and Engagement with a concentration in environmental conflicts. She is a trained mediator, facilitator and conflict coach. She brings empathy and understanding to her work in the farm community and years of process expertise in helping people work through challenges.
