Emily’s passion for the land began on her family’s farm in Virginia, where her agricultural roots were shaped by working alongside her family and listening to her grandmother’s stories. This background, combined with a commitment to social justice, has guided her career in roles across healthcare and social services. Now, as Senior East Coast Philanthropy Officer at American Farmland Trust, she connects donors with opportunities to protect farmland and promote sustainable agriculture. Now based in New Orleans, Emily remains committed to fostering fairness and opportunity in philanthropy. An eternal learner, she holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Administration from LSU-Shreveport and is currently pursuing her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy certification to amplify the reach of AFT’s mission.
