Climate and Soil Health Operations Coordinator

Erica (she/her) joined AFT in January of 2025, bringing her experience in project coordination, evaluation, data management, and stakeholder engagement to increase the environmental sustainability of industries and strengthen local food systems. In her role as Operations Coordinator for the national Climate and Soil Health Team, Erica ensures smooth day-to-day operations across the division by coordinating administrative, financial, and logistical processes. Her responsibilities include tracking and processing invoices, coordinating partner reports, refining standard operating procedures, and supporting programmatic logistics such as event coordination and project tracking.

Prior to joining AFT, Erica worked as the Program Support Specialist for Old Dominion University’s Center for Career & Leadership Development where she oversaw the coordination of various programs including the Monarch Food Pantry. She previously spent over five years working as an Environmental Consultant where she specialized in stormwater permitting and environmental management systems. Erica’s experience additionally includes developing children’s healthy eating programming for farmers markets, piloting a city funded compost drop-off program, and completing an urban agriculture fellowship with the USDA. She obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health from Old Dominion University where she focused her studies on food insecurity and conducted community-based research aimed at creating a more food secure communities in Virginia and D.C. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Virginia where she studied urban planning, environmental science, and sustainability.
