Biography

Evart joined American Farmland Trust in 2024 as a Grazing Mentor Manager. In this role he oversees and supports the Grazing Mentor program outreach and training efforts with producer mentors in Texas. Evart is born and raised in Texas where he grew up in a farming and ranching family, and he now resides near San Antonio with his wife and children. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Systems Management from Texas A&M University and his Master’s in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas. Evart is a veteran, having spent 20 years in the Air Force. Prior to joining AFT he was an instructor for a beginning farmer & rancher training program where he advised and supported program participants as they prepared to begin their farming journeys. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Farmer Veteran Coalition of Texas chapter, and with the help of his family he runs a small ranch where he raises goats and cattle using regenerative farming methods.
