Garrett joined American Farmland Trust in 2023 as a Smart Solar Specialist. He is responsible for developing and managing smart solar projects in Texas and serving as a resource for farmers and landowners. Garrett was born and raised in Texas, and currently resides in San Antonio with his wife and two children. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University and his Master’s in Geography from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Garrett has worked in the solar and energy storage field for the past five years. Prior to this he spent time in the US and abroad teaching and volunteering where he deepened his interests in sustainability, renewable energy, and education. In his free time, Garrett is a beekeeper and enjoys making mead and brewing beer.
