Biography

Greg Plotkin is a seasoned non-profit professional with more than 20 years of experience helping to lead environmental conservation, agriculture, and food system development organizations. In his current role as Senior Manager for Smart Solar Outreach and Engagement, he oversees efforts to educate and engage agricultural audiences in AFT’s farmer-first solar development projects. Prior to his current role, Greg served in a variety of positions across AFT’s Development, Communications, and Program departments over the previous 16 years. Most recently, as the Director of Digital Communications, Greg drove unprecedented growth of AFT’s digital properties through the creation of cutting-edge marketing and engagement campaigns like America’s Farmers Market Celebration, Free Range Conversations with AFT, and the Farmer Relief Fund. In addition to his work with AFT, Greg has also served in a fundraising and communications capacity with several leading nonprofit organizations, including The Edible Schoolyard Project, Trees for the Future, Eat Real, and Rainforest Action Network. He currently is the Board of Directors President of Tahoe Food Hub, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a thriving local food system in North Lake Tahoe. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and currently resides in Sonoma County, CA.
