
Jenna Farineau

Jenna supports with all written materials at AFT, providing editing and creative support. With over a decade of experience in the food system and more than five years in nonprofit storytelling and marketing, she brings deep experience and heart to her work.
Before joining AFT, Jenna was the Communications Manager at ActionAid USA, where she led the organization’s communications strategy. She produced two award-winning films amplifying the voices of women farmers in Somaliland, Nigeria, and Bangladesh, and also worked with smallholder farmers and women's groups in Senegal.
Jenna earned her B.A. in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she focused on climate politics, agroecology, and graphic design. Her passion for farming took root during her time there—working on the campus farm and running Share the Harvest, the school’s food access program. Throughout college, she also gained hands-on experience farming in France, Ireland, Ghana, and Senegal. After graduation, she moved to The Gambia to work with the Agency for the Development of Women and Children, where she helped establish a Seed and Cereal Bank to address food insecurity in the North Bank Region. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Jenna brings a global perspective and a deep commitment to food justice to everything she does.
