Katie Pisarello
Senior Land Use and Protection Research Scientist
Katie joined AFT in July 2024 after working as a research scientist for USDA-ARS for several years. Katie is part of AFT's Research Team and is a systems modeler, working with large multidisciplinary geospatial datasets. She provides quantitative solutions to complex agricultural, ecological, and sociological questions. She was born and raised just outside of Atlanta, received her bachelor's degree in Environmental Economics from University of Georgia and her PhD in Soil and Water Sciences from University of Florida. Katie has worked in a variety of research settings across disciplines and brings a broad range of scientific knowledge, analysis, and application to AFT. Katie lives in Tifton, GA with her husband, daughter, and son.
