Biography

Laura is responsible for stewardship of AFT’s easements and creating agricultural management plans for protected farmland. She also oversees AFT’s management of Turner Farm, a diversified organic farm on North Haven Island, Maine. Laura joined AFT in 2020 as a Conservation Planner working directly with farmers and other landowners and managers in New England to help them implement conservation practices on their farms, access federal funding, and protect their land as part of AFT’s partnership with NRCS. Prior to coming to American Farmland Trust, she worked as a Field Ecologist facilitating conservation of biological diversity and ecological integrity throughout the New England landscape. Laura holds a BS in Natural Resource Management from Northern Vermont University and an MS in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England.
