Mayda joined American Farmland Trust in September 2026. Prior to joining, Mayda co-founded Groundwork Market Garden, a certified organic urban farm in Buffalo, NY, which she has owned and operated for over the past decade. She is dedicated to leading & supporting efforts to expand access to locally grown food, uplift farmers, and strengthen the regional food system. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and continues to live and farm in Buffalo, New York.
