Biography

Michael Joined American Farmland Trust in April of 2022. Michael is in partnership with Truterra and Mercer Landmark, a farmer owned Co-op in northwest Ohio. His main role is to help farmers with cover crops, funding opportunities for conservation practices and participation in Truterra. Before AFT Michael worked for Mercer County Soil & Water District as a conservation tech and office administrator. He also worked as a research agronomist studying cover crops and soil health. Michael has a degree from The Ohio State University in Agronomy. He grew up on a small dairy farm in west central Ohio, that was started by his Great Grandfather in 1895. Him and his dad currently raise steers and grow corn, soybeans and wheat. Michael and his wife Katie have a son named Colton that is two and are expecting another child in the Spring of 2023.
