Natashia Sawabi

Natashia joined American Farmland Trust in April of 2026. She is an Easement Specialist that is part of an AFT team increasing the capacity of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to advance agricultural conservation easement acquisitions. Prior to joining AFT, Natashia worked in conservation land protection to protect clean water, open space, farmland, and endangered ecosystems on the south coast of Massachusetts. With a background largely rooted in farmland protection, Natashia brings over five years of experience with NRCS easement programs, where she began her career as a Pathways Intern to become a Natural Resource Specialist, and later served as a Realty Specialist in the NRCS Connecticut office. She holds a B.S. in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of Massachusetts where she concentrated on wildlife ecology and land management. Natashia lives in Northern Connecticut with all her animals where she remains actively engaged in supporting farmland protection initiatives in her local community.
