Ryan joined American Farmland Trust in September of 2022 after 16 years devoted to fruit and vegetable farming. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a BS in sustainable agriculture and he’s worked for a handful of farms in Western Massachusetts and started his own farm, Many Hands Farm Corps in 2011.

For the last three years, Ryan has been helping farmers navigate NRCS programs and to implement conservation projects on their farms. Ryan has deep knowledge of Nutrient Management, Soil Health, Crop Planning, Integrated Pest Management, and Irrigation practices and can leverage that knowledge to help farmers access financial assistance and better yields through Soil Health Testing, Comprehensive Farm Assessments, and making plans and designs for those practices that fit with a sustainable and profitable farm business plan.
