Scott Greatorex

Philanthrophy Officer, Northeast

Scott recently joined AFT to provide fundraising and mission engagement support in New York and New England as a member of the Individual Giving team. For more than thirty years, Scott served in higher education administration. His career in development includes roles as a major gift officer at Johns Hopkins University where he led activities associated with JHU’s signature initiatives during its Knowledge for the World campaign. He has also launched and led capital campaigns at Washington College in Maryland, and most recently at St. John’s College. At St. John’s, Scott oversaw all advancement efforts for SJC’s two campuses in Annapolis, Maryland and Santa Fe New Mexico including donor- and grant-funded initiatives to convert the campuses to solar power.


Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at The University of Maine in Orono and holds a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland. Scott is a native of Bangor, Maine, where as a teen he worked on vegetable, berry, and dairy farms in Central Maine. He’s been a lifelong gardener, and volunteer for environmental causes, most notably as a tree steward for Blue Water Baltimore and the Towson Green Alliance.
