Sydney cultivates fruitful relationships with donors to support AFT’s crucial work. She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Global Communication Studies and Spanish from Kent State University. She is an experienced fundraiser and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Northeast Ohio Chapter. Before joining AFT in August 2023 she served as Development Associate & Grant Writer for the Akron Urban League. Her experience in the nonprofit sector has fostered a deep appreciation for the power of service in creating positive change. At the core of her professional philosophy, her values are honesty, positivity, perseverance, and a good sense of humor. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, biking, and connecting with nature. At home, she gardens, paints, or engages in Harry Potter movie marathons with her dog, Louie.
