Biography

Tamara, the Project Manager for Climate Smart Truterra, comes to AFT after having worked in higher education at Purdue University and the University of Minnesota for the past 25 years. During that time, she worked in Costa Rica at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), where she focused on connecting research, education and Extension services directly with small-scale, diversified farmers. For the past decade she has worked with farmers and Extension educators across the Midwest, finding viable solutions to issues related to supply chains and climate change. During the pandemic, Tamara spent some of her time getting an MBA in project management and has utilized the past few years honing her skills combining her love for working with farmers while improving the management of grants and projects that serve them. She is married to a Costa Rican and have two children, two dogs, and a cat.
