Vanessa Lozano Perez
California Regenerative Agricultural Coordinator
Vanessa joined American Farmland Trust in November of 2024 as the California Regenerative Agriculture Coordinator. Her primary responsibilities include coordinating farmer and partner outreach to promote and demonstrate regenerative farming practices. Vanessa facilitates grower workshops, reaches underserved farmers, and supports California projects related to soil health, water conservation, water quality, land protection, field research, and communications.
Prior to joining the AFT team, Vanessa worked in Food Safety & Quality Assurance overseeing a fresh to frozen food processor in Atwater, CA. Vanessa was proudly born and raised in California’s Central Valley, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness at Fresno State. Vanessa has a generational background in farming and farm business management. She quickly gained firsthand experience farming, packing, shipping and maintaining record keeping on the farm; After her and her husband built a sweet potato packing shed and began marketing their produce to local grocery stores. Vanessa and her lovely husband are local Merced County farmers, where they currently farm pistachios, almonds and wheat for forage. Vanessa and her husband call Cressey home where they live with their two young children and Great Dane on their family farm.
