Statement on the Agriculture Committee Advancing Nomination of Dr. Bronaugh for USDA Deputy Secretary of Agriculture
We congratulate Dr. Jewel Bronaugh on the Senate Agriculture Committee advancing her nomination to serve as USDA’s next Deputy Secretary of Agriculture. This is a pivotal time for USDA as it continues with pandemic response, while also pursuing other critical goals such as increasing the resilience of the food system, improving farm profitability, helping producers become leaders in addressing climate change, and saving the farm and ranch land that sustains us. Dr. Bronaugh will bring experienced leadership to achieving each of these goals. We encourage the full Senate to confirm her as soon as possible.
