Farmland for a New Generation New York (FNG-NY)

FNG- NY is a program coordinated by American Farmland Trust to help farmers seeking land and landowners who want to keep their land in farming.

Regional Navigators

FNG-NY offers the New York Farmland Finder website and coordinates a statewide network of Regional Navigators. These partner organizations have dedicated staff who provide training and on-the-ground customized support to farmers and landowners. Services available in English and Spanish.

The NY Farm Transition Advisors Directory

The NY Farm Transition Advisors Directory is a free online directory to connect farmers with professional service providers who do work related to farmland access and farm succession planning.

Farmland Owner Resource Hub

The Farmland Owner Resource Hub is for landowners in New York State who want to make their land available to farmers, steward their farmland, conserve their farmland, and ensure the future of their farms.

 Our quarterly Land Transfer Navigators Regional Forums bring together local professionals who support farm and ranch transfers. Service providers such as attorneys, appraisers, lenders, mediators, and others specializing in succession and land transfer gather to create robust networks, share resources, and learn from each other.

Forums are co-hosted with AFT’s National Agricultural Land Network.

Land Transfer Navigators Partnership

An estimated 41% of agricultural land is projected to change hands by 2035. In response, American Farmland Trust, in partnership with USDA-NRCS, has launched the Land Transfer Navigators program to support retiring landowners and the next generation of farmers and ranchers.
