Land Transfer Navigators Pacific Northwest

Are you thinking about transferring your land to the next generation?
We are here to support you from start to finish.

An estimated 41% of agricultural land is projected to change hands by 2035. In response, American Farmland Trust, in partnership with USDA-NRCS, has launched the Land Transfer Navigators program to support retiring landowners and the next generation of farmers and ranchers.

Land Transfer Workshops

Our Land Transfer Workshops support landowners like you in succession planning for your farm or ranch. It’s never too early to start planning, as the path can take years or decades. Whether a transfer happens within a family or a community, the process can be challenging on both sides of the scenario. Workshops will build landowners’ skills and provide a supportive community as you make decisions about the future of your farm or ranch.

Direct Technical Assistance

AFT’s Regional Navigators support landowners and land seekers in succession planning. Through the Land Transfer Navigators program, Navigators have the skills and training to support farmers, ranchers, and landowners as they plan for farm and ranch transfer. Navigators also build networks with a wide range of service providers, from attorneys to real estate agents, to better support the full range of transfer planning needs.

Microgrants to Landowners

Landowners participating in workshops or receiving technical assistance may be eligible for microgrants to develop and implement succession plans. More information on these services will be available soon.
