Tom Buller

Tom Buller (he/him) is the Executive Director of the Kansas Rural Center.
He was previously the horticulture extension agent for K-State Research and Extension- Douglas County, Kansas. He served in that role from 2017 to 2021.
He also owns and operates a small-scale vegetable farm and has been growing vegetables organically in the Kansas River Valley since 2006. He co-authored “Growing Under Cover: A Kansas Grower’s Guide” and “Growing Over Cover: A Kansas Specialty Crop Grower’s Guide to Cover Crops” with partners at the Kansas Rural Center and K-State Research and Extension.
Tom was the founding president of the Kansas City Food Hub, a farmers’ owned cooperative and currently serves as the organization’s Secretary. Tom’s holds a B.A. degree in Geography and Latin American Area Studies from the University of Kansas and a M.A. degree in Geography from the University of Minnesota.
