Kristen assists in the design and administration of AFT’s farmer and rancher grantmaking programs. She started with AFT as New England Program Coordinator in 2021, primarily administering the New England Farmer Microgrants Program (“NEFMP”). She joined the National Farm Viability Team in 2024 where she’ll continue to administer the NEFMP, while providing similar administrative support to the Brighter Future Fund and other grantmaking initiatives at AFT. Prior to starting with AFT, Kristen held roles providing technical assistance to grantseekers as well as program and conference coordination for agricultural nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts. She’s worked as a farm hand, line cook, barista, server, proofreader, and executive assistant. Kristen was born and raised in Virginia, went to Elon University in NC for her undergraduate degree, and later earned a Master of Science in Agriculture, Food & Environment from Tufts University in Boston.
