As Farmland Information Specialist at the FIC, Ariel helps with technical assistance requests, conducting policy research, and developing educational materials including data compilations. Prior to joining AFT, she worked at Local Roots CSA and Certified Naturally Grown, in addition to spending time on several urban farms. In these roles, Ariel gained experience working in food systems and engaging with farmers both in her home state of New York and nationally. Ariel holds a Master of Arts in Food Systems from New York University, where her research focused on agriculture policy with an emphasis on the policies and programs affecting small-scale and organic farmers, as well as their informational needs. Ariel has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Vassar College.
